Gita Chapter 1: Verses 24-47 + opening/closing verses

Chinmaya Mission’s annual Shrimad Bhagavad Gita Chanting Competition, which is conducted by CM centers worldwide for children, youth, and adults, involves thousands of participants each year. The Gita, which teaches the supreme Truth and the art of living, has inspired millions, along with great world leaders and achievers.

The Shrimad Bhagavad Gita Chanting Competition is the brainchild of His Holiness Swami Chinmayananda, who promoted the study of Gita verses in India in the 1980s. Today, Chinmaya Mission continues the tradition of teaching and promoting the Gita through this annual competition, Gita jnana yajnas, and workshops.

CM Tampa's competition is open to the entire community, and features the participants' noteworthy scholarship and discipline. All the participants receive mementos and the winners receive beautiful prizes.

From grandparents to parents to children, families and friends have inspired each other and participated over the years. We welcome the entire community to join and support this noble event, which promotes the universal philosophy of Vedanta and helps us build a more harmonious world.

The Competition is offered in two categories: Open Book Chanting and Memorized Chanting. Prizes vary in each category.

You are welcome to e-mail us for any needed clarifications. May the blessings of the Lord and Guru guide you in your noble efforts!

Registration

$15 per person. Refreshments will be served. Once your registration is complete, we will email you the link to download the guidelines, verses to be printed, and MP3 audio files for the verses.

All Sanskrit verses are to be chanted in order, including the opening and closing verses. If you are using the Gita Chanting Made Easy book, note that the ending syllable in certain verses will differ in the audio files because of Sanskrit grammar rules, in which case, go by the the audio file for correct proununciation.
